Better late than never, right?? My class decided that we would do a paperless Earth Day and so we spent some time in the computer lab creating Earth Day themed comics. They are still works in progress as the students get to know how to use the program but the important thing for me is that my reluctant writers LOVE writing comics! If you haven’t used Bitstrips you really should check it out. It is very user friendly and a lot of fun for the kids.
Here are a few (in progress) samples from my class:
We also spent some time picking up trash on our school property and close surrounding area. We were really lucky to have beautiful weather! Annnnnd tomorrow it’s supposed to snow.
Do you use Bitstrips in your class? What activities have you done with it? I would love to hear from you!

Going paperless on Earth Day is awesome. I was laughing while my kids were making little Earth Day Booklets and saying "Wow we are using so much paper!" My kids also love comics. Great idea. I am your newest follower 🙂

I love the final results! Very cute, but also very engaging for reluctant writers. Love the idea of a paperless Earth Day as well. I'll need to pack that idea away for next year 🙂

I remember when Bitstrips was all the rage on fb! It got on my nerves at the time, but I can see why kids would find it fun!
