This is the first time I have done the whole caterpillar/butterfly thing with my munchkins before and it is definitely something I want to do every year. It was such an amazing thing to observe.
The weather was finally nice enough today that we were able to set the butterflies free. I was worried that the kids would be upset about having to let them go but they were actually great.
As I mentioned in an earlier post we read the book Butterfly Wishes and then I had my kids fill out this page I made:
On the top section they wrote their butterfly wish which had to be a wish for someone else or it wouldn’t come true (just like in the book!). Then I took a picture of each child setting their butterfly free and I will attach it to the bottom of the page. Then I’m going to mount them on card stock, laminate them and give to them for an end of year gift. If you would like a copy of this page you can get it here! And hopefully that works because I’ve never shared a google doc before!
Now the next thing I need to learn how to do is to blur out faces!
Have you done caterpillar/butterflies with your students? How did it go?
