Finished my room with a couple days to spare!


Thanks to my family who came and pitched in, I was able to get my room finished before school (some unexpected things came up this past week so I wasn’t able to go to school which left me with only a couple of days to get ready).

I really wish I had a better camera than just my ipad because some of the pictures look dark and grainy but you’ll get the idea!

I am so in love with my room this year. I just have a few small details to finish up like my writing process chart and a few labels that I forgot to print out as well as a couple more small things.

This is the view when you first come into my room.
This is on the table when you first walk in as well as the pencil sharpener.
I also have bins on the table when you walk in for their agenda books, home reading books and their homework books.
This is my word wall and half of my classroom library. This part of my library is for my leveled texts.
This is my guided reading/teacher area.

Here is the Art Gallery where student art work will go. I used ribbon and clothes pins to hang the work.  The clothes pins I made earlier in the summer. I just used scrap book paper and modpodge to cover over them to match with my room decor.  The ribbon was from Walmart.
This is part of the other half of my library. I keep chapter books and books sorted by author here. The labels match my cheetah print and polka dot theme. You can get them by clicking here.

This is what I like to call my organization board. Here is where I keep the daily schedule, my classroom jobs chart, the Daily 5 choice boards and posters and all my magnets etc.  I can’t remember where I got the Daily 5 posters but they were a freebie from TPT.  When I find the file I’ll add a credit here or if you know where I got them from feel free to leave a comment!
This is just a closer picture of my daily schedule cards…I still need to make the time cards to go along with it.  And my Help Wanted classroom jobs chart. 
I use these bins for any non-language related work.  I have 2 more of these bins for other subjects.
These are the supply bins where I store extra supplies and things like white board markers and erasers.  You can also see their language boxes here where we store everything language related.
This board is not finished yet. I’m going to list the learning goal for each subject here.  You can also see my “no name” board for students who forget to write their name on their work.
This is the view of the other half of my room. The bulletin boards need headers on them but otherwise they are done.
I store my math manipulatives on this shelf.

And here is what my student tables look like. 
I was pretty happy with how everything turned out and very thankful that I had prepared a lot of the stuff much earlier in the summer.  You never know when something unexpected is going to happen!
