I’m joining up with a bunch of great bloggers to share how we celebrate Halloween in our classrooms! From October 17th to October 19th you can visit our blogs to get some great ideas and some great freebies. Don’t forget to enter our giveaway for your chance to win a gift certificate to TeachersPayTeachers.
In my class we usually do some Halloween themed art work:
I always check out the dollar store for inspiration. Every year they have something different that I can bring into my classroom. These were a couple of my finds this year:
I found this great chair decoration that my students got such a kick out of! |
And they had these Halloween buckets that I thought would be great for our math manipulatives! |
We make different categories like smallest pumpkin, scariest, wartiest, ugliest, funniest, biggest etc. Students bring in spare change and they vote for their favorite pumpkin with their money. The pumpkin that raises the most money is the winner! It’s a big hit with the kids every year.
Finally, I incorporate Halloween into our curriculum. I like to do some fun word work activities and also some QR code fun.
This is a QR Code Candy themed estimation activity. You can find this activity by clicking here or the image above.
We’re also working our way through some Halloween Word Work and Math Word Problems from my Halloween Pack. Grab a limited time FREE sample of that pack by clicking the image below or click here (free from October 17-19th):
And you can check out the larger bundle by clicking here.

I love that your school raises money for charities! Our kids go door to door for canned goods instead of trick or treating. It is a positive spin on the holiday.
