Well we just finished up Canadian Thanksgiving and it was FABULOUS! So many yummy treats…too much turkey and mashed potatoes but totally worth it.
I’m linking up with DoodleBugs for Five For Friday.
1. Now that Canadian Thanksgiving is over I’m back on the diet bandwagon. The hubs and I are doing a Christmas challenge. Our goal is to eat at a deficit from now until Christmas and to work out 3 times per week. We both track our food on the app My Fitness Pal. In the last 2 years I’ve lost around 70 lbs but I still have another 25-30 to go. So far I’ve had a great week eating and exercise wise! Broke two personal lifting records!! I hit 135 lbs on squat and 100 lbs on seated row YAY me!
Now onto some school biz…
2. Earlier in the week we did a bunch of sorting activities using my math manipulatives:
3. Then we worked on graphing. We have this awesome carpet that has grid lines on it. There are so many things it can be used for but I tend to use it for graphing and also as a hundreds board. It’s called a Learning Carpet. In this picture we were graphing our favorite animals. What do you use your learning carpet for or what would you use it for? I’m always looking for new ideas.
4. For an assessment task this week I provided the students with Halloween foam stickers. Their job was to sort their stickers and then graph them. I gave them a blank piece of paper. It was really interesting to see who could do what. Some remembered to put a scale and some didn’t, some had scales but the numbers didn’t match up with the rows. Here are some pics of a couple that did a great job!
5. Do you celebrate Oktoberfest where you are? In my town we have one of the largest Oktoberfest celebrations in the world. We kick it off with the tapping of the Keg followed by 2 weeks of festing (AKA lots of beer, pretzel and sausage on a bun consumption). And we also have a fantastic parade!
This is me and my own cuties at the parade on Monday morning:
EIN PROSIT!!
Happy Weekend to you all!!!
