This week has just been nutso busy for me!
I woke up this morning all ready for a full day of organizing and decorating my classroom. I walked my kids to daycare (in the pouring rain!) and then got home in hopes of getting an early start.
Didn’t happen.
Why? Because my 2 year old son enjoys hiding things. Unfortunately, today it was my keys. All of my keys! My classroom keys, car keys, house keys, my key tag for the gym and my mailbox key. I hunted for them for 2 hours. 2 Hours.
Finally, the hubster texted me to say that there’s a spare car key in the garage so at least I was able to go to school…just a few hours later than I had hoped. I worked my behind off since my time was cut short…no chit chatting with fellow coworkers today (you know how that goes)!
I won’t be revealing my completed room yet…because it’s not complete. BUT I will share some more in progress pics as well as a few things that I’m loving.
The first thing I completed this week was my word wall. I already blogged about that but here is the completed picture:
It’s hard to see in this picture because of the glare from my lights but the word wall headers are cheetah print and polka dots in green, blue and pink. I also redid my library bins with labels to match which you can get here.
Here’s a better look at what they look like:

Heidi- I know the frustration of the missing keys. 🙁 So sorry. Good news is at least it wasn't your first day of school! 😉 You room looks awesome! Love the chalkboard look and your word wall!

Heidi, I think you and I are a lot alike!! I also have a bin problem. I have a HUGE pile that are now empty and I have no idea what to do with them. Plus, I got the same mushroom light from the dollar store – in yellow and purple! 🙂 Your room is looking great! I am a little behind where I'd like to be because I decided this week that I was going to paint in my room. Yup. The disgusting radiator that runs the entire length on one side, and the horrible burnt-orange shelves that run the entire length on the other side. Crazy? Maybe! 😉

Have you seen the burnt orange shelves in my room!! Must be an Ontario thing! They are so ugly! I'm not allowed to paint mine though unfortunately.
And I wanted the yellow and purple light but they only had one left and it was broken so I got the second cutest one.
Did you hear about the Ontario blogger meet up?
Mrs. Beattie's Classroom says
Ha! I'm not allowed to paint mine either! 😉 The custodian will be surprised when he sees it, but hey… what's he going to do?! You'll see what I was contending with when it is completely done and I blog about it!
No, I didn't hear…

HAHAHA Love it! I can't wait to see how it turns out!
I'll see if I can find the link and I'll post it on your blog. It's September 28th I think in Toronto for education bloggers.

I am currently in a key dilemma myself. I have misplaced my classroom key. At our school if you lose a key, you have to buy a new one {and it is not cheap}. So looks like I will be purchasing a $30 key next week, because I have looked for three days straight. I had it on my wrist and I really think it fell off when I was unloading new math materials and my school. That stinks for me!

Oh no!! That blows! I can't believe you have to pay for the key. I hope you're able to find it.

Hi How do you get the paper to lay so flat on your walls? it looks great

It was not easy! I did it by myself while standing on a ladder with my arms stretched out and stapling as fast as I could! It took me a LONG time to hang that paper. Next time I will enlist my husband's help.
